Vastu-Friendly Apartment Layouts Explained

Read Vastu as spatial logic
Most durable Vastu guidance maps onto tropical building sense: morning light where you wake, heat kept out of the west face, water and drainage away from living areas, and a clear entry that does not open into a wall.
What to look for on a floor plan
- Entry. A door opening into a small foyer rather than directly into the living room feels calmer and gives you a shoe and storage zone.
- Kitchen. South-east placement puts cooking heat away from bedrooms and gets morning light on the counter. Check the exhaust route and gas duct.
- Master bedroom. South-west corner is the traditional choice; practically, it is the quietest corner and takes the least morning glare.
- Pooja or quiet niche. North-east works because it is usually the coolest, least trafficked corner.
- Toilets. Not sharing a wall with the kitchen or the head of a bed — a plumbing and hygiene point as much as a Vastu one.
Compromises that are fine
In an apartment you cannot choose your plot orientation. Correcting with layout, mirrors and lighting is normal. A north-east entry with a west-facing balcony is not a defect.
Red flags worth negotiating on
Bedrooms with no external window, a kitchen with a single narrow shaft for ventilation, or a living room whose only light is a covered balcony.
Ask for the sun path
Our sales team will show you the building's orientation drawing and the sun path for your unit. That single sheet answers more Vastu questions than a checklist.
